something something about my policeman and red white and royal blue both having intimate scenes that were primarily surrounded around hands and touch and how raw and vulnerable and beautiful both those things were. how it was so much more intimate to be just held by the other person and how much euphoria it brought upon them. it's about how mainstream media sexualises queer love so much and treats queer love as a kink or a fantasy and then you have these movies that outright said no, queer love is about love and intimacy and the pure acceptance of being yourself with the person who sees you for you are. this soft of way of showing queer love was something i think i was always looking for growing up and i'm glad i have it now but i'm even more glad that today's kids grow up with the knowledge of queer love being a form of pure love and not just a sexual ideal
